- Autosomal recessive (Phenylketonuria) example-
- Males and females have the same chance of expressing the trait.(autosomal)
- It can only express the trait (disease) if it is homozygous.(aa- in this example the shaded part )
- If parents are not infected, but their offsprings are infected it express the recessive trait and both parents are heterozygous.
- If one parent expresses the trait, then their offspring who don't express it are heterozygous(carrier)
- The trait can skip generations.
